Enhancements to Cockpit View

What we've improved

We heard you loud and clear: the old cockpit interface was getting in the way of your actual work. Video feeds dominated everything, maps became unusable, and you spent more time wrestling with the interface than focusing on your missions. Today we're rolling out key enhancements to the Cockpit View —a flexible workspace that finally lets you control your drone operations the way you actually work.

New capabilities

Resizable Cockpit

Drag the panel divider to adjust your video and map allocation anywhere from 30-70%. When you're doing detailed inspections, expand the video. For navigation-heavy missions, give your map more space.

Integrated map operations

Send go-to commands and execute missions directly from the map while keeping your video feed visible. Click your target location, set the altitude, and execute - all without switching screens.

Right panel access

You can now access FlytBase Alarm Flinks and launch manual responses from within the cockpit view. This is particularly valuable for teams running security or emergency response operations.

Enhanced video controls

Pan your camera view with left-click and drag, or double-click to center. The overlay toggle lets you declutter your view while keeping essential safety information visible.

How to enable

1. Go to Settings (gear icon in the top right)

2. Switch "Cockpit Preference" from "Legacy" to "Cockpit 2.0"

3. Refresh your browser

This is a user-specific setting, so you can test it thoroughly before rolling it out to your team. The legacy cockpit remains available whenever you need it.

What remains unchanged

All your familiar controls stay in place - gimbal reset, lens switching, FPV toggle, and manual flight controls work exactly as before. Safety systems, RTH functionality, and mission recording features are completely preserved.
