Point of Interest (POI)
Point of Interest (POI) introduces fully automated orbital flight around any selected point on the map. With a single click, the drone orients toward the target, locks its camera onto the point, and maintains a perfect circular path allowing operators to concentrate exclusively on mission objectives and data quality, rather than the mechanics of flight.
By removing the manual workload and variability of orbiting, POI delivers consistent, high-quality incident documentation for security teams and comprehensive, repeatable structural analysis for inspection crews. The result is systematic, defensible, and easier-to-analyze footage across every flight.
Powered by precise rangefinder sensor data, Point of Interest is now supported on DJI Dock 1 and Dock 3 systems.
Key Capabilities and Highlights
Persistent Target Lock: The drone's yaw and gimbal remain continuously aligned to keep the camera precisely centered on the POI for flawless video and imagery.
Real-Time Dynamic Control: Operators can adjust the orbit speed and direction (Clockwise or Counter-Clockwise) dynamically while the mission is in progress.
Hands-Off Payload Operations: POI enables the freedom to utilize thermal lens switching, zoom control, and media capture while the flight path is autonomously managed.
On-Map Setup: Define the orbit center and automatically set the radius based on the drone's current distance with a single click.
When to Use POI
Incident evidence capture: Orbit a vehicle, person of interest, or scene to document from all angles without manual repositioning.
Structural assessment: Document building facades, rooftops, or infrastructure damage from multiple perspectives.
Asset documentation : Capture comprehensive views of towers, solar arrays, or industrial equipment for compliance and maintenance planning.
